Transforming Plastic Waste into Comfort for the Homeless

Recycled Sleeping Mats

About Us

Making a Positive Impact

EcoWeave Home is a Thailand-based organization committed to repurposing plastic waste. We collaborate with religious places like temples to obtain plastic for recycling. Our initiative specializes in transforming this waste into sleeping mats for homeless people. By doing so, we aim to make a positive impact by providing comfort to those in need and reducing plastic waste. We also create employment opportunities for low-income individuals by employing them to create the sleeping mats.

Crochet- Style

The EcoWeave Home Crocheted Sleeping Mats are handmade from recycled plastic, transformed into durable, comfortable mats for those in need. Collected plastic waste, often sourced from temples, is cleaned, cut into strips, and made into "plarn" (plastic yarn) for crocheting. Using large hooks, volunteers crochet the plarn into thick, cushioned mats with single crochet stitches, making them sturdy and flexible. Each mat is crafted to be easily rolled up and includes straps for easy carrying, providing an eco-friendly, portable sleeping solution that offers warmth, comfort, and durability outdoors.

Reducing Plastic Waste

EcoWeave Home reduces plastic waste by collecting discarded plastic from local communities, especially from temples, where visitors leave a significant amount of single-use plastic. Partnering with these sites, EcoWeave Home intercepts plastic waste that would otherwise end up in landfills or natural environments. By recycling this plastic into sleeping mats, they help reduce pollution while raising awareness about plastic waste. This approach not only protects the environment but also transforms waste into useful, eco-friendly products that support social welfare.
